This is from the City of Douglasville website:

Tuesday, November 4, is Election Day throughout America. In addition to national and state election, voters in Douglasville and Douglas County will vote in the county election. Also, on November 4 the City of Douglasville will have a special election.

This special election will be on a referendum to decide whether the City of Douglasville — like more than 30 other local governments in Georgia — will be able to use Tax Allocation Districts as a means of stimulating economic development.

Bottom line: city residents, they want to increase your property taxes to pay for things they can’t afford because the SPLOST failed last year.
