The following incident reports were recently filed by the Douglasville Police Department:

• An armed robbery was reported at the Blimpie near the Hospital Drive Kroger in which a man entered the store and showed a handgun in his waistband to the employee at the register. He reportedly told the employee to open the register. At that point the employee ran into the store’s back room and called 911. Police were on the scene in less than a minute and the suspect was seen running toward Fairburn Road. Other units approaching the area on Highway 92 saw the suspect enter a Waffle House parking lot. Officers apprehended the subject and arrested him without incident. Officers recovered the suspect’s handgun.

• A burglary was attempted at a home on Malone Street while the resident was at home. The resident caught two males attempting to pry the side door of the residence open. The subjects left the area and were later located near Stewart Middle School. The suspects were arrested after being identified by the victim.

• An entering an auto occurred Nov. 12 at the gas pumps of the Marathon gas station on Fairburn Road at Hospital Drive. The victim’s purse and its contents were taken. The victim did not realize her purse was missing until she was notified Nov. 21 by her bank that someone had used her credit card at the Thornton Road Taco Bell and at several locations in Alabama.

• A vehicle was stolen from a location on Countryside Way between 10 p.m. on Nov. 20 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 21.

• A resident on Countryside Way reported her Chevrolet Aveo was damaged between 11 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 22. The lock had been punched, but it did not appear that anything inside the vehicle had been taken.

• A criminal trespass arrest for entry was made at Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Today after a person was found sleeping inside one of the church’s buildings without permission. Officers reported that it did not appear to be forced entry and looked as if the suspect was homeless.

• A motor vehicle was stolen Nov. 23 from Century Apartments in Lithia Springs. The vehicle was recovered later that day in Fulton County.
