Note: This is only a public hearing. The vote for adoption of the code change(s) will occur following the submission and approval of proposed changes to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA).
RESOLUTIONS
4. A resolution of the Board of Commissioners of Douglas County, Georgia requesting the Board of Elections and Registration to call an election of the voters of Douglas County on September 15, 2009 to authorize Douglas County to permit and regulate Sunday sales of the distilled spirits or alcoholic beverages for beverage purposes by the drink; approving the form of ballot to be used in such election; and for other purposes. 5. Authorization to give notice as required by law to the Cities in Douglas County, Georgia of a meeting between the County and Cities to discuss a proposed SPLOST/bond ballot referendum for the November 3, 2009 scheduled election cycle. (Legal)
6. Authorization for Finance to calculate and pay accrued benefits under FLSA as recommended by legal department and subject to review by personnel and the internal auditor. (Legal)
7. Authorization to accept a check in the amount of $52,000.00 from Bank of North Georgia and deposit into the Sidewalk Fund, amend the Sidewalk Fund for fees and land improvements and authorize the advertisement for bids for the installation of the sidewalks. (Mark Teal)
8. Authorization to enter into an agreement with Atlanta Regional Commission to apply for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program II and authorize

9. Juvenile Programs has received an additional $2,500.00 in funding from the Council of Juvenile Court Judges to purchase psychological evaluation services and drug screening kits for the October 2008 – September 2009 grant cycle year. Authorization to sign the contract and amend the budget. No matching funds are required. (Jenny McDade)
10. Approval of a State Grant award that will be utilized to continue a Family Drug Court in Juvenile Court in deprivation cases to be used for salary and state training. Authorization to sign all necessary documents to accept the award and amend the budget. No matching funds are required. (Jenny McDade)
11. Authorization to accept a grant in the amount of $106,871.00 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U.S. Department of Justice awarded to the Sheriff’s office, District Attorney and Solicitor General, and authorize the Chairman to sign related documents as necessary and amend the budget. 12. Authorization to accept the Federal Transit Administration Stimulus Grant in the amount of $340,000 and authorize the Chairman to sign all related documents as necessary and amend the budget. No matching funds are required. (Gary Watson)
13. Authorization for Parks and Recreation to host the 2nd Annual “Last Chance Triathlon” at Boundary Waters Park on October 11, 2009 and to enter into a contract with Dave Johnson Enterprises to provide services for the event. (Gary Dukes)
