DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) – Douglas County authorities arrested a 16-year-old boy Wednesday in connection with his grandmother’s death. Investigators said Dominique Stuckey set fire to his grandmother’s home in March. The fire ultimately claimed her life.

Sixty-nine-year-old Velma Stuckey died when flames tore through the home on Yeager Road, near Douglasville.

The then 15-year-old Dominique Stuckey called 911 and reported the fire. The teen said there was a person trapped on the second floor.

Six minutes later firefighters arrived and quickly went to work.

The fire was contained but Velma Stuckey did not make it.

Dominique Stuckey was arrested and charged as adult for the murder of his grandmother.
