Over 20,000 in the county right now are without power.  The cause is unknown at this point.  GreyStone Power reported fifteen hours ago that crews were repairing a broken pole in the Skyview/Mt. Vernon Area but the outages are not near this area.  My power was off for about an hour yesterday and was off around noon today for ten minutes.  More details as I get them.

Greystone Power is now reporting there is a problem with a Substation.

From the Douglasville Police Department:

“Greystone Power has a major outage that covers a significant portion of Douglas County. Traffic lights are out in several place on Chapel Hill Rd and Hwy 5. Greystone is working to restore power as soon as possible.

Pass this on to everyone you know in the area. Please only call 911 if there is an emergency to report, as they are being overwhelmed with calls about the power being out.”

From Greystone Power’s Facebook Page:  “We currently are experiencing a number of outages in the Douglas County service area. Crews have been dispatched to the following locations: Annewakee, Mason Creek, Chapel Hill and Central Church Road. As you can imagine, our phone lines are quite busy. You can report your outage online through our Storm Center or call 1-866-473-9786. I will post an update once I have more information.”
